One of the clients I coach sent me this joke. It's hilarious. Read it here and feel free to pass it on to make others smile.

Brenda Rahe, WNBF Champion

My God, have you all seen this women's physique? WNBF/INBF competitor, Brenda Rahe, is a world champion. She began competing in 2000 and has worked extremely hard to reach the top notch condition she is in.

She is a personal trainer and a very inspirational woman. Her pic will make a fantastic addition to my vision board. Check out her site to see what she's up to.

Starring at the Gym : Gym Etiquette 101

Basic etiquette eludes people sometimes.

Here's a prime example: I'm at the gym, doing my own thing. I'm pouring sweat in very unladylike manner, grunting a little. I take a second to rest in between sets and what do I see? Eyes. Why are people staring?

The above scenario happens a lot. It happened this morning. I looked around carefully and saw that many people staring were guys. I don't know what they were thinking, but I found myself wishing I had dressed better for the gym. And, who wants to worry about that nonsense?

Women were also staring. The impression I got was that they felt stuck in the cardio section and would have liked to venture into the free weight section. They seemed intimidated. I should have welcomed them over there with me. Maybe I'll just hand them my card next time. :) It was either that, or they were grossed out at my sweating. If that was the case, they can stick it.

But you know, I go to gym to push HARD. I don't really want people staring. I am trying to develop thick skin and look the other way when they stare. I don't want to be self-conscious and worry about how I look or sound. This is one of the key reasons I love working out at home. I can be as loud and sweaty as I want. I can make hideous faces and not care. I can stink and I don't have to wait for machines. I love it at home!
